The coaches working at the club are contracted by the Elmvale Skating Club. Coaches are trained to deliver the CanSkate, Learn to Skate, Power Skate and Star Skate sessions. Each coach is certified through Skate Canada’s National Coaching Certification Program. (NCCP). All Skate Canada coaches must be registered coaching members in good standing.
Coaches are not permitted to solicit parents or skaters for private lessons as per Skate Canada’s Coaches Code of Ethics. Parents and coaches enter into a private agreement which may be ended at the discretion of the coach or parent. It is often best to choose a coach for the season and then re-evaluate your needs at the end of the year. You may have more than one coach to work on the different disciplines in skating.
All coaches must maintain the following requirements to be in good standing
